Political Parties

Democratic  Republican
 
A political party is a group of people who have similar ideas about how the country should be run. We have a two political party system; Democratic and Republican. A Democracy is the type of government for the people and by the people. A Republican is a characteristic of a republic. A republic is a nation ruled by officers and representatives elected by the people.

I like how you put the picture there it helped me see where power is and i also liked how you defined the term political parties. I also like how on the other side you put the obama vs mccain it was easy to compare the issues.

State Income Tax

A YES VOTE would reduce the state personal income tax rate to 2.65%  for the tax year beginning on January 1, 2009, and would eliminate the tax for all tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2009.
A NO VOTE would make no change in the state income tax laws.

Possession of Marijuana

A YES VOTE would replace the criminal penalties for possession of one ounce or less of marijuana with a new system of civil penalties.
A NO VOTE would make no change in state criminal laws concerning possession of marijuana.

Dog Racing

A YES VOTE would prohibit dog racing on which betting or wagering occurs, effective on January 1, 2010
A NO VOTE would make non changes in the laws governing dog racing

Shall the County Manager Plan of section 18 of the County Charter Procedures Act be adopted for Dukes County, with the provision for a board of commissioners of seven members, elected for concurrent terms and elected at large?

Shall the State Representative from this district be instructed to support legislation on establishing health care as a human right regardless of age, state of health or employment status, by creating a single payer health insurance system that is comprehensive, cost effective, and publicly provided to all residents of Massachusetts; and to oppose any laws penalizing the uninsured for failing to obtain health insurance?
